Supply/Inventory Specialist - SS
Responsibilities



Responsible for coordinating designated inventory and material management functions for assigned departments. Assists staff, managers, and business manager with supply and equipment monitoring, ordering, reporting, and inventory, as well as cost reduction initiatives. Assists in evaluating new products and equipment. Provides expert assistance to staff in resolving charge discrepancies and accessing supply equipment.Coordinates activities related to supply/equipment processes. Collaborates with ancillary departments in making changes to par levels, processes, etc.Demonstrates population-specific competencies (e.g. age-specific, cultural sensitivity, patient-centered communication) in performance of role.



Qualifications



EducationHigh school diploma or GED required.ExperienceTwo years experience in health care setting area as pca, supply tech, clerk etc. Ability to prioritize and organize work; make decisions and exercise judgment in responsibilities related to job; and ability to effectively communicate.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of health care associated equipment and supplies.Basic understanding of principles of materials and inventory management.Ability to independently prioritize and organize work, make decisions and exercise judgment in responsibilities related to job.Moderate level of analytical skills required to evaluate and solve problems and implement/update processes and systems in orderly, logical manner.Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate orally and in writing, and establish effective working relationships with diverse roles and departments. Excellent working knowledge of medical terminology.Strong degree of initiative to seek solutions, offer assistance, identify alternatives, problem solve, etc. Tolerant and adaptable to change that may directly or indirectly affect the nature of work, job content or that of others in area.Demonstrated flexibility and ability to prioritize to meet daily responsibilities as well as special projects needing immediate attention.Ability to comprehend and interpret relevant data and systems (examples: keyboarding, organizing data, preparing reports, keeping records, performing calculation, etc.)Physical DemandsSufficient physical ability is needed to operate office machines such as computers, copy machines, and fax machines; to bend or stoop while filing, and to lift supplies, equipment, etc.Sufficient mental acuity is needed to complete tasks accurately and efficiently, to meet deadlines and to work and function effectively in a stressful environment.- Sufficient visual ability is needed for tedious proofing of documents and reports and for using a personal computer.
